The newly developed facility in Agawam, is operated in partnership with The Gandara Center and provides on-site short-term crisis stabilization, therapeutic intervention, and specialized programming in a secure site for up to 22 children and adolescents experiencing a mental health crisis. The program operates specialized, physically separate and developmentally appropriate units for younger (6-12 years) and older (13-18 years) youth.

Referrals to The Village for Youth program are accepted from any community or hospital Crisis Program, or from psychiatric hospitals seeking to transition a youth from hospitalization to a residential setting. The Village for Youth is a regional program, serving children from across Western Massachusetts.

The youth program provides a safe environment with 24/7 supervision, intensive therapy, medication assessment and treatment, and support for families around planning for the youth to return home.

We are honored to share that Behavioral Health Network has received the 2025 Workforce Development Leadership Award from the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Workforce Board at their annual meeting on June 5th. This recognition highlights a project created in response to a growing workforce crisis in behavioral health. Rising demand for mental health and substance use services - especially in rural areas - has outpaced the supply of trained professionals, leaving too many without timely access to care.

BHN has assumed operations of six substance use disorder (SUD) treatment programs in Somerville, Brockton, Attleboro, Hyannis, Lawrence, and Haverhill MA. These centers continue to offer essential services including medication for opioid use disorder, counseling and case management to individuals currently in care and anyone in the surrounding communities seeking support for opioid use disorder. To mark this important milestone, BHN is hosting a series of Grand Opening Celebrations.
