BHN Launches Family-Based Intensive Treatment (FIT) Program to Support Youth and Families Across Western Massachusetts

January 7, 2026

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. (BHN), the designated Community Service Agency (CSA) for Western Massachusetts, has announced the launch of its Family-Based Intensive Treatment (FIT) program. This new service expands BHN’s commitment to delivering essential behavioral health care to children, youth, and families through a community-centered approach.

The FIT program helps families in crisis to stabilize by providing intensive home-based support. FIT serves youth under age 21 with MassHealth insurance.

Each family is supported by a dedicated team, providing clinical support, 24/7 availability and peer support from someone with lived experience. The team teaches practical skills to help children thrive at home and connects families with community resources for long-term success.

FIT is part of a full continuum of child and family support services, available to families in the following communities of Hampden and Worcester Counties, ensuring that families across Western and Central Massachusetts have access to timely, compassionate care:

Hampden County: Agawam, Belchertown, Blandford, Chester, Chicopee, East Longmeadow, Feeding Hills, Granby, Granville, Hampden, Holyoke, Huntington, Ludlow, Longmeadow, Monson, Montgomery, Palmer, Russell, Southampton, South Hadley, Southwick, Springfield, Tolland, Ware, Westfield, West Springfield, and Wilbraham.

Worcester County (Operated via Together for Families collaborative): Auburn, Millbury, Boylston, Shrewsbury, West Boylston, Sterling, Berlin, Bolton, Harvard, Lancaster, Grafton, Clinton, Worcester, Warren, Barre, Hardwick, Oakham, West Brookfield, East Brookfield, Brookfield, New Braintree, North Brookfield, Spencer, Holden, Leicester, Paxton, Rutland, Worcester, Hubbardston, Princeton. Templeton, Winchendon, Ashby, Ashburnham, Fitchburg, Gardner, Leominster, Lunenburg, Townsend, Westminster, Pepperell, Ayer, Shirley, and Groton.

“FIT expands the continuum of care within BHN’s child and family programs, ensuring families receive intensive, home-based support when they need it most. These programs reflect our commitment to building stronger, healthier communities,” said Michelle Michaelian, Senior Vice President of Child and Family Community-Based Programs.
