Expanding Access to Recovery: BHN Celebrates New SUD Treatment Program Openings in Eastern Mass
Attleboro, MA Grand Opening Celebration held on May 9, 2025.
Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is proud to celebrate the opening of five new Medication Addiction Treatment (MAT) programs in Attleboro, Somerville, Lawrence, Brockton and Hyannis Massachusetts, advancing our mission to provide compassionate, high-quality care for individuals and families impacted by substance use.
A Seamless Transition for Eastern Massachusetts
Earlier this year, BHN assumed operations of six Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs across Eastern Massachusetts—ensuring continuity of care and support in each community. This transition reflects BHN’s commitment to compassionate, evidence-based treatment grounded in dignity, respect, and strong local partnerships.
Individuals now have access to a full spectrum of services, including medication-assisted treatment options like methadone, Vivitrol, and both injectable and sublingual buprenorphine (Sublocade and Brixadi), along with individual and group counseling and comprehensive case management to support long-term recovery.
Celebrating New Beginnings
Each of our grand opening celebrations brought together local leaders, BHN staff, and community members to honor the power of connection and hope. Below are highlights from each event:
7 Railroad Ave. Attleboro, MA 02703
On May 9th, BHN hosted a Grand Opening joined by Mayor Cathleen DeSimone, State Representatives Adam Scanlon and Jim Hawkins, and local partners.
401 Highland Ave. Somerville, MA
On May 20th, we celebrated with Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, At-Large City Councilor Jake Wilson, and leaders from the city’s Health and Human Services Department. A highlight was a powerful testimonial from a client sharing their recovery journey.

On May 30th BHN proudly opened its Lawrence program with Mayor Brian A. DePeña, State Representative Estela Reyes, and leaders from the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services.
231 Main St. Brockton, MA
On September 5th we marked the Grand Opening of our Brockton MAT program with Mayor Robert Sullivan, State Representative Michelle DuBois, and BHN leadership joining community members and partners to celebrate this vital new resource. Local partners also joined us and hosted informational tables, helping connect attendees with services and support.
261 North St. Hyannis, MA
BHN celebrated the Grand Opening of our Hyannis MAT program on October 3rd with a powerful day of connection, community, and hope. We were honored to welcome Senator Julian Cyr, Representative Kip Diggs, Town Council Vice President Kris Clark, and BHN staff and leadership. Local partners participated and hosted tables, offering resources and strengthening community ties.
At each celebration, BHN leaders including CEO Steve Winn, Medical Director Dr. Ruth Potee, Senior Vice President of Addiction & Recovery Services Tony Boswell, and local program directors delivered remarks highlighting the importance of hope, dignity, and accessible care.
Guests toured the facilities, met the BHN team, and learned more about the individualized services offered, including medication for opioid use disorder, counseling, and case management. The energy at each site reflected a shared commitment to recovery and strong community support. We are deeply grateful to our staff, partners, and community leaders who made these openings possible.
“These facilities represent BHN’s commitment to delivering care grounded in dignity, respect, and community partnership,” said Tony Boswell, BHN’s Senior Vice President of Addiction & Recovery Services. “We believe recovery is possible for everyone, and these sites will help make that a reality for many.”
Western Massachusetts MAT Programs
In addition to our Eastern Massachusetts expansion, BHN continues to provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in Springfield, Greenfield, Holyoke, and Orange, with mobile units serving Palmer and Ware—ensuring that individuals across the region have access to the care they need, wherever they are.
BHN provides a comprehensive continuum of care for adults seeking treatment and long-term recovery from substance use disorders. Our approach integrates mental health support, gender-specific programming, and trauma-informed services to create a safe, empowering environment where individuals can heal and thrive.
