Katherine B. Wilson is President and CEO of Behavioral Health Network, Inc. Under Kathy’s leadership for the past 29 years, BHN has evolved into a principle provider of mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability services in the Pioneer Valley. BHN serves about 29,000 individuals per year and employs over 1,800 professionals/paraprofessionals. Kathy’s leadership in local and statewide initiatives is recognized throughout Massachusetts. She was trained as a family therapist, and following a few years in private practice, she joined the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation as a planner for development of community-based services in response to closure of state institutions. She helped design community programs and place residents of Belchertown State School and Northampton State Hospital before she left to join the leadership team of a community mental health center. Kathy helped to redesign the Community Care Mental Health Center into the present organization, Behavioral Health Network. Under her leadership, BHN has been very successful in accessing new funds, participating in collaborative initiatives, implementing new programs, participating in research, and meeting performance expectations of funders. Kathy presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Association for Behavioral Healthcare, Massachusetts’ state trade association representing mental health and addiction providers. Kathy is the proud mother of three adult children and resides in Wilbraham, Massachusetts with her husband Frank and their devoted golden retriever, Riley.
